the new sincerely jamie lynn

Hello everyone and thank you so much for checking out my website/blog/life! I started blogging my life in early middle school. From the start, I fell in love with the freedom that blogging and creating content offered. After starting my first blog I eventually moved on to my second, then third, then fourth and eventually created an endless amount of unkept blogs.

(FYI… I am about to go into a rough and long history of how I made the decision and idea of reinventing SJL. It took a long time and it’s a lot to try to compress into a pretty little blog post so please bear with me!)

Coming into college, I wanted to dedicate a blog to all the memories and events I expected to experience in these four years. In July of 2017, I wrote my first blog post on my, then ‘jamielynndizon’, blog and kept up with it for a little while. As I continued my freshman year, I started making videos for my blog which then developed my obsession with filming and editing videos and started my ‘vlogging’ phase. From that point on I primarily decided to vlog and post content on YouTube and left my blog untouched intermittently.

Every year of college, I have been able to find a new way to expand my ‘skills’ or hobbies. As I previously said, I have been obsessed with blogs and websites since I learned how to properly maintain one at a young age, but college has been a time of recognition for me. In these past two and a half years I have truly developed a passion and love for using my creativity to create different types of content. Freshman year, I discovered the creativity that YouTube allowed me to express and, for the next few years, focused on my YouTube channel and improving myself with video production. As my video editing skills increased, so did my ability to create graphics. The summer after my sophomore year I realized that I had very mediocre graphics skills and have spent this past year constantly learning and improving in making graphics. I couuuuld continue to talk about my skills and what I’ve learned over the past few years but that isn’t the intention of this post.

While all of the skill-building was taking place, I began to have many different ideas about projects that I wanted to start. I also should note that I am a person who loves to make Instagram accounts for no reason in particular and in September of 2018 I launched my blog insta as ‘thejamielynndizon’. At the time I made the account I wanted to have a place to post casual or ‘cool’ looking pictures. Eventually the content turned into more of a blog and in mid October I changed the name to ‘sincerelyjamielynn’ creating the brand and blog that is today.

Looking into my future, I have no clue what I want to do but after this summer I know I have a heart for ministry. Throughout this semester, I have become more and more passionate about writing Bible studies and helping others with their quiet times and believe that is what I am being called to do at this moment. After college I am looking to work in Christian publishing or something similar but for now I am trying to see what I can do until I am properly educated.

Which is, finally, where Sincerely Jamie Lynn comes in.

I have recently been really excited about what I planned (for now) with my life. I know at the end of the day Christ determines our plans so they can change at any time, but finally having a goal to work toward is exciting. With that said, in my life I have always had the aspiration to start a business, and , actually, my dream retirement plan is to open a flower shop. I am a person who tries to push things off until I think it’s the perfect moment to do them. This dream business of mine is an example, but I no longer want to push things off.

Tomorrow, next week and next year are not guarantees and I have come to realize if I am passionate about something I should chase after it. This is why I have chosen to develop a small business. When looking at what I wanted my brand to be I immediately thought of Sincerely Jamie Lynn. This website, blog, and now one day business was created on the basis of sincerity.

That’s how I want to create, share, sell and overall live. Today I am launching a new Sincerely Jamie Lynn with the intention of creating products that help you in your relationship with Christ. I am going to end this post now because it is quite lengthy but I have great plans for this little site and I am so excited to share them with you in the coming year
