13 clothing items on my spring wishlist

There are two things that have recently been on my mind.

1) I might have a problem with shopping. It’s not like I purchase all of the things in my cart, I think I would have to marry an Upper East Sider to make that a reality. It’s that I love the act of shopping. The hunt of looking for the perfect piece to add to my closet. The thrill of finding it. It’s kind of addicting.

2) The color pink. If you’re anything like me, neutrals are a comfort. They’re easy, reliable, and the one thing you feel safe buying. Then there are all the other colors in the world. Blue, orange, purple… not as safe of a bet as a nice beige. Recently, I can’t help but gravitate towards the color pink. During fall and winter, greens were my kryptonite and I still have a fondness for the color (I say as I type in a forest green sweatshirt,) but pink has been the color repeatedly in my search engine and this can only mean one thing…

Spring is coming.

If there was ever a perfect time for endlessly shopping for pink, or any other light and airy color, it’s spring. That’s why today, I want to share 16 pieces that are in my cart just waiting for the weather to warm up 30 more degrees

1 – Gimme Bold Colors

Color is coming into fashion FAST. Vogue has called dibs on bubble gum pink, Prada claimed yellow earlier this year on the runway, and Bottega practically owns kelly green. If you’re a color fanatic… this is your year! I’m seeing colors left and right. Neon had its spotlight a few years ago, pastels are always a good staple for spring, BUT bold colors are ready to shine this year!

2 – Dreamy Floral Skirts

There’s nothing that screams spring more than floral, so I found it fitting to make it number one on the list. You can never go wrong with a staple floral skirt! Pair it with a tank, solid shirt, or bralette and you’re good to go!

3 – Milkmaid Style Items

The trend that keeps on giving. I can’t help but fall in love each time I see a dreamy pic of a milkmaid dress. The cut is so feminine and spring-like I couldn’t leave it off this list!

4- Light Colored Purses

The key to a magical neutral look is where, and if, you place the pop of color. In my case, I love the look of a colorful purse. Recently, purses of all colors have been taking over my Instagram feed.

5 – Scarves

I’ve been a major fan of hair scarves for years now and spring is when I think they ~thrive~ most! I am a strong believer in the power of a hair scarf. I don’t have much else to say on this one!

6 – Chunky/Platform Shoes

I’m seeing nods to seventies and nineties fashion left and right and chunky shoes are a perfect way for you to do the same this spring. Platforms have been in for a while and they are just growing in popularity! Fun funky and chunky shoes have been making it down the runway and are perfect for this spring.

7 – Delicate Slip-On Sandals

Contrasting with the last wishlist item, delicate slip-ons are another item perfect for spring. We saw these a lot last year and don’t think they’re ready to cast off just yet! I love seeing these in heel form and flats and think they can be a fun way to tie in color.

8 – Statement Sweatshirts

I love a good sweatshirt. I have since high school and seeing them trending all over social media is making me OBSESSED. From designer to department store, sweatshirts and in high demand. A few sweatshirts look I LOVE is the monotone embroidered sweatshirt and you can bet it’s in my ‘please buy me’ shopping cart at multiple stores.

9 – Blazers

Blazers are a cardigans older sibling. They are in the same family but you can tell one is just a tad bit more mature than the other! Blazers are perfect for elevating a look or just throwing on for an extra layer. Many stores are selling them in amazing fabrics for spring such as linen, silk, and more!

10 – Matching Sets

What can I say… I’m a sucker for a matching set! There are so many ways you can go with a good set. There are the knit tanks and cardigan duos, sweatshirt and sweat pants, blazer set, and so much more! These are the perfect thing to throw on and not have to worry about if your look is cohesive!!

11 – Bold Prints, Cut-Outs, and Patchwork… oh my!

Good things come in threes and these three designs are making outfits so much fun this year! Bold prints, such as 70s floral or zebra print are making an entrance on Insta. Cut-outs have been in for a while are are perfect to add to your spring wardrobe. Lastly, patchwork is also working the visual field this year!!

12 – Staple Spring Dresses

There are few things that scream spring every season and cotton and linen are the staples every year! Can you really call yourself a spring fashion fan if you don’t own a cotton dress? Cotton is light, airy, reliable, AND sustainable. Please go grab a dress from Target, Walmart, or Goodwill! If a cotton dress isn’t your cup of tea I hope you at least have a linen one. I like to think linen is springs best friend. You always see them together so if you don’t have a linen dress for this spring you may want to go and grab one!

13 – Finally, a Corset Inspired Top

Now I can see corsets falling out of fashion as fast as they came in this year, but I felt like I had to put it on this list. Whether you watched Bridgerton or not, you have probably seen or heard about the newly corset-obsessed gals on Insta! Some of these corset pieces make me want to invest in the trend but we will see if I end up doing it. My head leans towards no but nothing is final in fashion!

Now whether is be for personal or financial reasons, there is a 98.2% chance I will not get all of these pieces (No I didn’t actually calculate it but you can trust me,) but I believe that between you and me we could probably tackle this list!

I hope you saw a few pieces to add in your ‘someday’ cart from you favorite stores! Until text time lovelies…
