Wow. Jamie? Writing about another post about fashion trends? YES!!

Hey everyone! This post may be a little different than the others but I’m hoping to create a new norm. This year has created a passion that I’m hoping to capitalize on and that is feeling confident in how I look. To state the obvious, in recent years I have put on some weight and it’s made me less confident in the way I look. I subconsciously stopped caring about the way I dressed and looked. In high school, I loved makeup and dressing up with the trends (yikes.) In college that stopped, until this semester.

This semester I really fell in love with some of the influencers I was following (@itsyuyann and @emmaleger are the most notable,) and they SLAY the fashion game so I thought it was time I stop wallowing in my image and own it with confidence. Don’t get me wrong, I am still trying to work my way back to a body I’m proud of, and one that is healthier, but as I do that I have loved looking into the fashion trends.

*DISCLAIMER!* I’m no fashion guru and am just dipping my toe into the fashion scene so some of these trends may be off, BUT these are things I would love to see in 2021 and have read about through other sources (listed at the end!)

After looking through many designer Spring 2021 collections, editorial pieces, and Instagram (lol), I have put together the following list of the trends I am loving and am keen to see next year!

Bold Shoes

This one kind of seems like a cop-out but let me explain! Many influencers and designers have been pairing their looks with KILLER shoes. I am seeing bold boots, distinct heels, and even… platform flip-flops. Needless to say, we can expect to see BOLD SHOES in next year’s line up.

Sheers

YALL I’m dreaming in sheer. In just about every collection I looked through, sheer was present and IN CHARGE. We are already seeing trends of sheer tights through the Chanel and Gucci tights but I am predicting we will see way more next year. Whether it be tights, stockings, or even turtlenecks. Sheer fabric is making a statement and I LOVE it!!

Yellow

Yellow! The 2021 Pantone color of the year is already being seen as a trend! From a pop of color to the main piece, yellow is being incorporated in outfits and can be predicted to be seen next year! Keep the lookout for yellow handbags, accessories, or even statement pieces such as coats or dresses!

Hair Scarves

If you know me, you know that hair scarves have been my game for the past few years now, but I see that others are starting to hop on this trend. We have already seen a few wearing hair scarves in 2020 but I saw major designers such as Prada, Gucci, and Chanel showcasing them in their collections. Hair scarves may be seeing an even bigger spotlight in 2021! These are the perfect versatile accessory. You can wear them as a headband, ponytail tie, hair wrap, and more!

Sorbets

If I’m totally honest, the soft pastels are not my fav. I tend to like neutrals and darker tones BUT I may have to change my mind for this next year. This fall, we saw an introduction to sorbets with sage green and these softer ‘sorbet’-inspired colors are starting to make an impact in the fashion world. Chanel had many outfits showcasing these soft pastels and many editorials have already mentioned their popularity for the next year.

Good ‘Ol Handbags

During my intermediate and high school years, my mother always tried to get me to wear purses or hand bags and I would NOT have it. This past year, that changed entirely. With the re-introduction of the 90s classic mini shoulder bag, my old habits changed. I have LOVED this mini bag and I can see this trend continuing next year along with pochettes!! These purses scream fashion yet practicality. If you’re like me and love to travel light, a pochette is for you!! In general, a simple, trusty, and neutral purse is trending amongst many influencer’s pages rn!

Large Clothing

Although large, baggy clothing is by no means a new trend, we are starting to see new cuts and designs of this trend! First I should mention large coats! Oversized blazers are all over social media as of late. I don’t anticipate them leaving anytime soon! Another ‘large clothing’ trend that I’m seeing is wide-cut pants! These also aren’t too new but I can tell that they will be here for a little while longer!

Matching Sets

This was in my fall trends but I don’t see them going anywhere soon! These matching sets are here and loved by many! Now in my fall fashion trends, I spoke about matching sets that included more or sweats but I am seeing more sweater top sets and suit-like sets trending for this spring!

Gold Chains and Hoops

Will there ever be a day when hoops aren’t in style? If there is, I refuse to believe it! You may have noticed that chains are currently trending. My prediction is that they won’t stop within this next year. Gold chains and hoops are definitely where it’s at so make sure to try and grab yourself a stable set for your wardrobe!

Pops of Blue

In a neutral wardrobe, pops of color are almost essential to spice things up. If you’re a neutral gal, you might want to start shopping for blue accessories! Pops of blue are starting to rise on the scene and it is cute ngl! Try looking for pants, purses, hair accessories, and more if you want to jump on this trend! claire_most

I hope you enjoyed this post and are as excited for some of the trends above as I am! I have put together collages of items in this trend list that YOU can shop on the LIKE TO KNOW IT APP! Make sure to screenshot and open the app to have access to shopping the items in the collages!! Also, feel free to pin this article and share it with your friends! Until next time all.
