Hey everyone. If you’re reading this… YAY. That means that I have officially launched SJL and this is my first follow-up post.
Every month I am going to write a blog post titled ‘what i’m studying rn.’ This will be a short post to catch y’all up on what I am studying in my quiet times! In the past, seeing what my friends are reading has been a great way for me to find inspo on what I want to study next. What that said I’m going to start informing you what’s up in my qts.
This past month, really past few months, I have been focused on reading and truly getting into books of the Bible.
This month I was finally able to finish reading through Exodus!! It was a great book but kind of hard to get trough toward the end if I am honest.
I then moved on to read through Hosea. I have been listening to sermons from Norwegian Settlers Church. Trevor, the head pastor to NSC, just finished a series on the minor prophets. I felt super drawn to read through the minor prophets so I started reading Hosea! I’m only on chapter 8 of Hosea but it’s been a really great book so far.
Over Thanksgiving break I was told about an advent reading plan so I put my study on Hosea on hold.
Since there are 24 days reading up to Luke, some people in my church read online that reading one chapter of Luke each day throughout December would leave you reading the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve. So for the month of December I have been reading through Luke like this!
Luke is such a great book. This is actually the first time I’ve fully studied and read through Luke so reading it backwards has been really interesting.
That’s pretty much everything that I have been studying this month.
I hope that this gave you a couple of ideas for your studies! I love y’all and hope that you are having a great winter break. Until next time,
**For reference, the primary Bible that I use is the She Reads Truth Bible and is CSB translation. When I travel, I use a Hosanna Revival Bible that is ESV. I also use the BLB app for Text Commentary by David Guzik
